Do you struggle to find the time for solitude in the midst of the demands of your life in ministry?
Are you longing for an encounter with God beyond all that you do for God?
Are you facing challenges that require a word from God rather than mere problem-solving, human striving, and hard work?
Many of us as Christian leaders understand (and even teach!) the importance of solitude and silence as
spiritual disciplines, but we ourselves find it difficult to be still in God's presence.
Together we will enter into rhythms of solitude, guided meditations and prayer in the relaxed environment of a beautiful retreat center. Based on her book, Invitation to Solitude and Silence, Ruth Haley Barton will guide us in an exploration of solitude and silence as the primary disciplines in which we:
- Are invited to be ourselves in God's presence
- Learn how to rest in God
- Allow God to minister to us in very personal ways
- Listen for a word from God in the places where we need it most
